Trademark Enforcement Training Course for Egyptian Trademark Office

A CLDP advisor from USPTO traveled to Egypt to conduct an intensive ten-day training course to help train the Egyptian Trademark Office (ETO) on using the International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks Vienna Classification System.

Rules of Origin Road Show in Morocco

CLDP, in cooperation with CBP, organized an advanced road-show in four Moroccan cities where CBP experts conducted workshops on technical assistance related to rules of origin provisions of the FTA as they pertain to textiles and apparel. The format of the program consisted of CBP experts providing training for Moroccan officials from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce as well as over 400 members from the private sector.

U.S.- Omani Trade Relations Strengthened Through Customs Workshop

During the three-day workshop in Muscat, Oman which was organized by CLDP from June 3 - 5, 2007, in coordination with the Customs and Border Protection Agency, Office of Textiles and Apparel, government employees from the Royal Oman Police and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry were invited to participate in the workshop to assist with U.S. - Oman Free Trade Agreement implementation.

CLDP Hosts First Ever U.S.-Saudi Arabia Judicial Consultations

In June 2007, CLDP conducted the first segment of US-Saudi Arabia judicial consultations in Saudi Arabia. During this program, representatives from the Department of State Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, the US Federal Judiciary, and the National Conference of State Legislatures met with Saudi legal officials in an attempt to build bridges of communication and a deeper understand of each other’s legal system.

The Law and Practice of Technology Licensing

CLDP conducted an Aglerian program on technology licensing consistng of two phases: 1/ A four-day workshop in Rabat, Morocco, that took place in late February 2007. Based upon case studies developed by CLDP, the workshop was focused on the law of technology licensing and of technology transfer. 2/ A week of consultations in the U.S., primarily in North Carolina. These consultations were focused on the practice of technology licensing and of technology transfer.

On April 2-4, 2007, as part of its assistance to modernize Algeria's business environment in the context of Algeria's WTO accession, CLDP conducted a workshop in Algiers, Algeria on Universal Services in the Telecommunications Sector, in conjunction with the Autorite de Regulation de la Poste et des Telecommunications (ARPT).
