CLDP’s workshop on E&P Contracting for Pakistan

February 3, 2016 - February 5, 2016

In February 2016, CLDP organized a workshop in London, UK on exploration and production (E&P) contracting for senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources (MPNR) and the Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd. (OGDCL).  The purpose of the workshop was to develop the capacity of the delegation to negotiate domestic E&P contracts and joint operating agreements (JOAs) to help develop Pakistan’s domestic gas sector.

Joe Yang and Kenyon Weaver from CLDP led the workshop.  Experts David Sweeney and Marian Hagler presented on key E&P fiscal and non-fiscal terms as incentives for investors, and on the key terms in Joint Operating Agreements.  In addition, the workshop brought in a number of other outside experts who presented on recent volatility and outlook in the regional and worldwide oil and gas markets, and the challenges and opportunities for Pakistan to access global LNG markets.
