CLDP Hosts U.S. Consultations for Trademark Examiners from Georgia

CLDP, in conjunction with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), is hosting a two-week U.S. Consultations with Georgia's National Intellectual Property Center (Sakpatenti) to provide assistance and advanced training for trademark examiners. The advanced training consists of several countries worldwide, including Costa Rica, Israel, Kazakhstan, and Brazil, where the participants have a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and information first-hand. CLDP cosponsored a three-person delegation from Sakpatenti to travel to Alexandria, VA, to conduct on-site consultations with USPTO, where the training consists of lectures and presentations, in addition to case studies and group exercises. The goal of these consultations was to assist Georgia be providing a platform for sharing information about legal and procedural approaches to resolving trademark registration issues.

On October 12-14 in Manama, Bahrain, CLDP, in cooperation with Royal University for Women (RUW), the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA), the University Pittsburgh's Center for International Legal Education (CILE), and MENA Chambers Bahrain held a preparatory training in Manama, Bahrain, aimed to prepare South Asia, Middle East and North Africa law students to compete in the 25th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, to be held in Vienna, Austria and Hong Kong in March-April 2018.
