CLDP Cooperates with the World Trade Organization and the Government of Moldova to advise Afghanistan Parliament with Key Legislative Reform Initiatives

On July 17-19, 2017, the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Law Development Program, in cooperation with the Government of Moldova, the Afghanistan Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the World Trade Organization Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation (ITTC), and the U.S. Embassy, Moldova, held a workshop for members of Afghanistan Parliamentary Committees in Chisinau, Moldova.

The workshop featured trainings and expert exchanges on WTO Accession Package and the multilateral agreements on Trade Facilitation, Anti-Dumping Measures, Subsidies and Countervailing Measures, Safeguards, and Customs Valuation.

CLDP’s Michael Cofield and Yulia Melara facilitated U.S.-based Consultations on certification levels in procurement training on October 30 through November 3, 2017, in Washington, D.C. by hosting five delegates from the Training Center within the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic for visits and discussions with U.S. government, commercial, and academic providers of procurement training, as well as with practitioners involved in implementing public-private partnerships in the U.S. regarding procurement training, certification levels, and related matters.
