Bahrain Public Procurement Workshop Phase I

November 14, 2017 - November 15, 2017

On November 14-15, CLDP held a workshop to support the Bahrain Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism’s initiative to develop new procurement laws and regulations to support small-and medium-sized businesses in Bahrain. The workshop also supported the newly formed working group of key ministries agencies, and stakeholders that will develop the new laws. Expert-advisors for the program included the Small Business Administration’s Associate General Counsel for Procurement Law, John Klein, and the general counsel for a procurement consulting firm in the United States. The advisors discussed U.S. procurement best practices in ensuring transparent and efficient standards and in promoting small-business set-asides. This workshop is the first in a series of programs on procurement best practices in Bahrain, which will help level the playing field for domestic and international companies bidding on government contracts.
