Afghanistan-Pakistan Joint Workshop on Good Regulatory Practice and the WTO TBT and SPS Agreements

On September 16-21, in cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO) Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation (ITTC), CLDP held a Joint Workshop for officials from the governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan on Good Regulatory Practice and the WTO Agreements on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) and the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS).  The workshop featured an exchange among Afghanistan and Pakistani officials and U.S. experts from across the interagency, including the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture on best practices in regulations development and in implementing the transparency provisions of the TBT and SPS Agreements.
