Workshop on the Effective Examination of Trademarks

CLDP and the USPTO organized a Workshop on the Effective Examination of Trademarks for approximately 35 Nigerian and Ghanaian trademark examiners. The workshop, held in Abuja, Nigeria, investigated the tools and rationale needed for comprehensive internationally compliant examination of trademark applications.

As a result of this workshop, Nigerian and Ghanian trademark examiners will be able to utilize the tools, procedures and rationale to achieve effective, efficient, and internationally compliant examination of trademark applications in their countries, in hopes of strengthening the IP regime in the region.

On August 5-8, 2019, CLDP supported the participation of a delegate from the State Service of Intellectual Property and Innovation, Krygyz Republic, and the Kazakh Patent Agency in a Trademarks IP Office Administration training, hosted by the USPTO in Alexandria, Virginia.
