The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in collaboration with the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will host a 2-day workshop on establishing competitive legal and regulatory framework for offshore hydrocarbon development in Argentina. The workshop will serve as an overview of the laws and regulations that need to be in place for Argentina to offer competitive terms (i.e. terms that are competitive to other similarly situated jurisdictions and in accordance with industry norms). This program is part of CLDP’s continued engagement with the Government of Argentina on sustainable oil and gas sector development which is funded by the the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources (DOS/ENR) under its Energy Governance and Capacity Initiative (EGCI) for offshore sector cooperation.
