Pakistan: Telecom and Cyber Training

July 10, 2017 - July 17, 2017

From July 10 through July 17, CLDP will organize an educational exchange in Boulder, Colorado, for Pakistani information and communications technology officials from the Ministry of Information Technology and the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority.  During the week, they will join representatives of other developing countries at two courses offered by the public-private United States Telecommunications Training Institute (USTTI).  Half will attend the course “"Hands-On" Introduction to Protecting Networks from Cyber Attacks” and half will attend  “Managing Effectively in the Changing Telecommunications Environment.” The delegation will also learn about current activities at the Institute of Telecommunication Sciences, part of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and one of the Department of Commerce Laboratories located in Boulder.

This program will facilitate the exchange of knowledge between the visiting Pakistani officials and U.S. experts and with counterparts from different part of the world.  It continues CLDP’s technical assistance to Pakistan to build capacity within its information and communications technology ICT sector, which will increase connectivity to services and products, encourage investment, and help Pakistan meet its goal of making a digital Pakistan economy.
