BiH: Judicial Workshop on International Sales Contracts Enforcement

September 20, 2017 - September 21, 2017

From September 20-21, in coordination with the Centers for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of the Republika Srpska (RS) and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), CLDP will conduct a workshop on international sales contract enforcement in Teslić, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Participants will include approximately 40 judges from both the RS and the FBiH (the two government entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina). The workshop aims to increase the capacity of judges to effectively adjudicate international commercial disputes, and also to raise their awareness of arbitration and other means of alternative dispute resolution, in order to produce the predictable and uniform decisions necessary to attract foreign investment and encourage entrepreneurship. This event is part of a series of workshops intended to build the capacity of the judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it will build on CLDP’s previous training in June 2017 on adjudication of bankruptcy cases. In the coming months, CLDP will also receive increased funding for Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to expand assistance into the areas of trade facilitation and government procurement.
