Pakistan National Internet Governance Forum

October 9, 2018 - October 11, 2018

In October, 2018, CLDP plans also to offer help in the organization of a national Internet Governance Forum (IGFs), to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The United Nations organizes annual global IGFs  interactive, collaborative space for stakeholders from government, civil society, and private industry to exchange ideas on issues beyond the mechanics of governing the Internet, and includes discussions including development, accessibility, digital literacy, openness, cybersecurity, privacy, and free speech.  The IGF organizing bodies encourage local and regional IGFs, which are organized independently but consistent with rules to ensure participation by all stakeholders.   A workshop held in conjunction with Pakistan’s IGF will help understanding of relevant issues, increase Pakistan’s participation in global governance decisions, and lead to better outcomes for development, innovation, connectivity, security, and free speech, among other areas, and will increase opportunities for U.S. businesses.
