CLDP TO HOST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ANTI-COUNTERFEITING IN GEORGIA

July 12, 2018 - July 13, 2018

On July 12-13, 2018, CLDP, in close partnership with the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia “Sakpatenti,” will host the Fourth Annual "Georgia Against Counterfeiting" Conference in Batumi, Georgia. The conference presents an opportunity for Intellectual property (IP) professionals from the private and public sector of Georgia to interface with the business community and international practitioners.  The conference also is a platform for experienced practitioners in the field to present best practices and developments in the field of IP.  Conference presenters will review mechanisms to battle counterfeiting in various industries as well as other topics including civil enforcement of intellectual property right (IPR) infringement, ex officio powers, and handling parallel imports.

The development of an efficient system of intellectual property protection is a priority of the Government of Georgia.  As such, Georgia has engaged in a number of initiatives to improve its system of IP enforcement and to build public awareness and respect for IP protection.  This conference will contribute to these initiatives by enhancing public-private dialogue in the fight against counterfeiting, sharing best practices, and promoting coordination in the enforcement of IP rights among all relevant stakeholders.
