El Salvador: Workshop on Building Innovation in Processes and Proactively Developing Products

July 10, 2019 - July 11, 2019

On July 10-11, 2019, in coordination with the office of the U.S. Trade Representative, CLDP will implement a Workshop on Building Innovation in Processes and Proactively Developing Products in San Salvador, El Salvador.

This workshop forms the third installment of the program, “Building El Salvador’s Trade and Competitiveness in Textiles & Apparel to Strengthen Trade and Regional Economic Prosperity,” through which CLDP & USTR seek to improve regional prosperity in El Salvador by fostering human and institutional capacity to support and strengthen the textile and apparel industry. This will be achieved over the course of three years, through technical roundtables with government trade officials, industry representatives, and academia to create shared knowledge and provide the skill sets to cultivate business opportunities that increase economic competitiveness. The workshops are integral to achieving improved regional prosperity, as set forth in the U.S. Strategy for Engagement in Central America, as continued advancement of the Salvadoran textile and apparel industry is essential to generating relatively high-paying formal sector jobs, reducing poverty, and stemming irregular migration, thus promoting a more prosperous and stable region.
