Meeting of the Central Asia Regional Expert Level on Intellectual Property Rights

On September 17-19, 2019, CLDP will facilitate the first meeting of the Central Asia regional expert level on Intellectual Property Rights. In addition to government officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, CLDP will gather expert advisors from the U.S. Government and private sector. The work of the first meeting will focus on regional issues highlighted in the Special 301 Report, including accession to and implementation of the WIPO internet treaties, enforcement of intellectual property rights, and government is of unlicensed software. CLDP is facilitating the group's work in response to the resolution of the U.S.-Central Asia TIFA Council's resolution, from October 2017, that such a group be formed.
