January 22, 2017 - January 25, 2018

CLDP will co-organize, in cooperation with the Government of Algeria, a Workshop on Creating an Innovation Ecosystem, to take place in Algiers, Algeria from January 22-25, 2018. The workshop will focus on skills and knowledge needed to create an ecosystem where innovation and start-up companies can succeed. The program will include aspects on intellectual property, innovation responsive to market needs, and technology valuation. This workshop is part of CLDP's multi-year effort to promote technology transfer, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Algeria, which is funded by the U.S.

April 17, 2017 - May 19, 2017

From April 17 – May 19, 2017, CLDP will sponsor one fellowship recipient from the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) staff to spend a month working as an integral member of the Bureau of Competition team at the Federal Trade Commission. The professional capacity gained by the CCP official through this training will contribute to the transparency and predictability of domestic and international business transactions. 

April 30, 2017 - May 5, 2017

CLDP has a mandate to provide technical assistance to foster US-Iraq commercial ties, in that vein, CLDP in collaboration with the City of Houston and the US Department of State, will conduct a 6-day program, on April 30 - May 5, 2017, in Houston, Texas, for 10 government officials from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil who will attend the “Offshore Technology Conference”, in Houston, May 1-4, 2017.

May 10, 2017 - May 12, 2017

On May 10-12, 2017, CLDP will hold a regional program with participants from Kuwait, Bahrain, Morocco, and Azerbaijan in Casablanca, Morocco to discuss best practices in promoting SME development.  The regional program will include participants from both the private sector, including incubators and accelerator programs, and government agencies whose aim is to promote entrepreneurship through diverse sectors.  Topics for the program will include best practices in building innovation ecosystems, facilitating effective and efficient business registration procedures, discussing benefi

May 14, 2017 - May 16, 2017

CLDP has a mandate to provide technical assistance to improve contract enforcement via alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms in the Arabian Peninsula.  In Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, CLDP will conduct a series of programs in order to assist in the growth and effectiveness of the ADR centers in these country.  CLDP will conduct a one-day program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 14, 2017 with the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) and a one-day program in Kuwait City, Kuwait, on May 16, 2017 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).  These programs

May 16, 2017 - May 17, 2017

CLDP will co-host a Workshop on Customs Procedures for Facilitating the Export of Handicrafts in Rabat, Morocco from May 16-17, 2017 in coordination with Morocco's Maison de l'Artisan. The workshop will stakeholders in the handicraft sector, including artisans, artisan cooperatives, and government representatives, for training on customs procedures for handicraft exports. It will feature experts from both the United States and Moroccan customs services. 

May 24, 2017 - May 26, 2017

On May 24-26, CLDP will conduct a workshop in Victoria, Seychelles on developing a sustainable upstream oil and gas policy.  The workshop caps the work of several past months, in which CLDP has worked with PetroSeychelles – the national oil company and upstream regulator – to develop a policy that meets the country’s goals for domestic exploration and production in balance with the Seychelles’ unique environmental heritage and its thriving tourism industry.
