July 31, 2017 - August 1, 2017

CLDP, in collaboration with the Ukraine's State Fiscal Service (SFS) will host a Workshop on Government Ethics, bringing together customs officials of various ranks and specializations, from heads of sector to customs officers stationed at border crossing points. The Workshop will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine on July 31 - August 1. During the workshop, CLDP will work with SFS to develop anti-corruption strategies and implement a comprehensive integrity program.

August 7, 2017 - September 29, 2017

From August 7 – September 29, 2017, CLDP will sponsor one fellowship recipient from the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) staff to spend two months working as an integral member of the Bureau of Consumer Protection team at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

On August 7, CLDP, met with the Palestinian Competition Law Steering Committee to discuss the current draft competition law and identify key areas of technical support that is needed.

August 8, 2017

CLDP, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Foreign Commercial Service (FCS) and International Trade Administration, conducted a series of consultations with current franchise owners, operators, and managers, for the purposes of assessing the legal and commercial franchise environment. In the past several years, the West Bank has focused on supporting prospective Palestinian investors to bring U.S. franchises. Through their efforts, the West Bank has seen a flood of U.S.

August 10, 2017 - August 11, 2017

On August 9-10, CLDP, at the behest of the US General Consulate in Jerusalem, and in cooperation with the Higher Judicial Council and the Attorney General’s Office, kick started its IP training program for Palestinian judges and prosecutors from the West Bank. CLDP was joined by two U.S. Patent and Trademark Office trademark attorneys, alongside Judge Denise Cote of the U.S.

August 21, 2017 - August 22, 2017

On August 21-22, CLDP will hold a workshop in Dhaka in partnership with the U.S. Embassy on LNG. The Government of Bangladesh is currently in the process of tendering and negotiating for the importation of LNG. The workshop will focus on the proper risk allocation in an LNG imports contract to prepare the government to better draft its upcoming contracts.

August 24, 2017 - August 25, 2017

On August 24-25, CLDP will hold a workshop in Colombo on LNG import power purchase agreements. CLDP has previously worked with the Government of Sri Lanka on standardizing its PPAs. The focus of the workshop will be on understanding project economics of an LNG import facility, developing the tender terms necessary to properly allocate risk in an LNG tender, and clarity on the legal, regulatory, and contractual framework necessary for the importation of LNG.
