January 22, 2017 - January 25, 2018

CLDP will co-organize, in cooperation with the Government of Algeria, a Workshop on Creating an Innovation Ecosystem, to take place in Algiers, Algeria from January 22-25, 2018. The workshop will focus on skills and knowledge needed to create an ecosystem where innovation and start-up companies can succeed. The program will include aspects on intellectual property, innovation responsive to market needs, and technology valuation. This workshop is part of CLDP's multi-year effort to promote technology transfer, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Algeria, which is funded by the U.S.

October 11, 2017 - October 17, 2017

The U.S. Department of Commerce provides technical assistance to the Government of Bahrain, to introduce best practices in business registration, contract enforcement, insolvency reform, and legislative drafting in an effort to encourage investment and economic growth. To further support these goals, 15 National Assembly Council of Representatives (CoR) officials will travel to Washington, D.C. in order to interact with, and learn from, USG officials.

October 11, 2017 - October 12, 2017

CLDP, in coordination with Morocco's Committee National de l’Environnement des Affaires and Germany's Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), will organize Consultations on Insolvency Reform in El Jadida, Morocco from October 11-12, 2017. The workshop will include international insolvency experts and representatives from across Morocco's ministries, courts, and civil society and will focus on the current reform of Morocco's insolvability law. CLDP will co-sponsor the consultations with funding by the U.S.

October 13, 2017 - October 20, 2017

CLDP, in cooperation with the Higher Commercial Court of Ukraine (HCC), and the U.S. Federal Judicial Center (FJC) will hold a week long Consultative Visit on Utilization of Judicial IP Benchbook. The Visit will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Washington DC on October 13 - 20, 2017 and will be part of the efforts to assist Ukraine to obtain a more effective adjudication of Intellectual Property (IP) cases by the Ukrainian judiciary through the development of the IP Benchbook.

October 14, 2017

CLDP, in cooperation with Royal University for Women (RUW), University Pittsburgh's Center for International Legal Education (CILE), MENA Chambers Bahrain, and the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) will hold a preparatory training in Manama, Bahrain, aimed to prepare South Asia, Middle East and North Africa law students to compete in the 25th Annual Willem C.

October 15, 2017 - October 20, 2017

CLDP in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture, will support the travel of the Government of Ukraine (GOU) delegation to the GPA Committee Meeting to take place on October 15-20, 2017, at WTO Secretariat, Geneva. The GOU delegation will consist of two Ministry of Economic Development and Trade officials. They will attend the GPA Committee meeting and participate in bilateral negotiations with the U.S. and other delegations.

October 16, 2017 - October 19, 2017

CLDP in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture will support the travel of the Government of Ukraine (GOU) delegation to the Agriculture Committee Meeting to take place on October 16-19, 2017 at WTO Secretariat, Geneva. The GOU delegation will consist of one Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and one Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine officials. They will attend the AG Committee meeting and participate in bilateral negotiations with the U.S. and other delegations.

October 16, 2017 - October 19, 2017

After convening its first-ever Trans-Caspian Working Group on Trade Facilitation on Border Issues, in April, 2017, in Odesa, Ukraine, CLDP will resume the meetings of the Central Asia-Afghanistan Expert Level Working Group on Customs Issues, with customs officials from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The meeting will take place on October 16-19, 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

October 16, 2017 - October 20, 2017

From October 16-20, CLDP will conduct two assessments in Honduras. The first assessment will be on trade facilitation, as part of CLDP's recently-approved project which aims to strengthen trade ties, boost regional integration through exports, and create jobs in Central America. This joint project between CLDP and the Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration (ITA) aims to support the U.S. Strategy for Engagement in Central America by providing technical assistance to the governments of Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvadaor, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.

October 24, 2017 - October 30, 2017

CLDP will hold workshops on handicraft export to the United States in Rabat from October 24-25, Fez on October 27, and Marrakech on October 30, 2017. The workshops are being coordinated with Morocco's Maison de l'Artisan and Ministry of Handicrafts, Social Economy and Solidarity. CLDP and a U.S. handicraft consultant will lead sessions on practical aspects of exporting handicrafts to the American market. These workshops are part of a multi-phase CLDP program on increasing Moroccan handicraft exports to the United States, which is funded by the U.S.

October 29, 2017 - November 3, 2017

CLDP in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture, will support the travel of the Government of Ukraine (GOU) delegation to the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Committee Meeting to take place on October 29 - November 3, 2017 at WTO Secretariat, Geneva. The GOU delegation will consist of one Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and one Ministry of Agriculture of Ukraine officials. They will attend the SPS Committee meeting and participate in bilateral negotiations with the U.S. and other delegations.

October 30, 2017 - November 2, 2017

From October 30 - November 2 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, CLDP will conduct a mining workshop for officials and staff from the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. CLDP experts will organize a comprehensive "mining fundamentals" program for largely newly appointed and hired officials and staff responsible for regulatory oversight over development of Afghanistan's mining sector.

October 30, 2017 - November 3, 2017

CLDP will host U.S. Consultations on the Government Procurement for 5 delegates from the Training Center within the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Consultations will take place in Washington D.C. on October 30 – November 3, 2017 and will help strengthen the capacity of the Training Center to provide public procurement trainings and certifications.

October 30, 2017 - October 31, 2017

From October 30-31, CLDP will organize a workshop on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for 127 judicial candidates in Baku, Azerbaijan. The workshop will be held in coordination with the Azerbaijan Justice Academy as part of its one-year curriculum for judicial candidates. The objective of the workshop is to provide an overview of ADR and the role of judges in the ADR process, including pre-trial conferencing, referrals to different types of ADR mechanisms, and enforcement of settlement agreements. The Hon. Barrington D.
