November 29, 2017 - December 2, 2017

On November 29, CLDP lead a roundtable for Georgian government officials to discuss the country’s current legal framework on insolvency. The workshop was held in Tbilisi, Georgia with the support of the U.S. Embassy Tbilisi and sought to bring together Georgian government stakeholders from the Ministry of Justice, the High Council of Justice and the Parliament.

December 4, 2017 - December 8, 2017

On December 4-5, CLDP, in close cooperation with USPTO and the Continuing Legal Education Institute of Pakistan (CLEIP), held an intellectual property (IP) workshop in Karachi, Pakistan, for IP Tribunal Presiding Officers and select District and Session Court (D&S) judges identified as likely to be assigned to IP Tribunals in the near future (a total of 15 participants).  The workshop focused on enhancing the knowledge and analytical skills of the participants when applying IP law to cases before the IP Tribunals and D&S courts.  U.S.

December 6, 2017 - December 7, 2017

As part of its continued cooperation with the Tunis Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Government of Tunisia, CLDP will organize workshops on franchising during the TunisMed Franchise Expo to be held in Tunis from December 6-7, 2017. CLDP will organize and sponsor training sessions on franchising in the global and Tunisian contexts as well as franchise models, contracts, negotiations, and finance.  CLDP has supported the expo for several years to encourage franchising as a tool for economic development, as part of its technical assistance to Tunisia funded by the U.S.

December 6, 2017 - December 7, 2017

From December 6-7, in coordination with the Dominican General Directorate for Public Contracting (DGCP), CLDP will conduct a workshop on government procurement for disaster preparedness and emergency response for approximately 50 representatives of Dominican government institutions responsible for citizen security, including the National Police and the National 911 Emergency and Security System.

December 6, 2017 - December 7, 2017

CLDP will conduct a two-day alternative dispute resolution training for members of the Kuwaiti judiciary at the Kuwait Commercial Arbitration Center.

December 7, 2017 - December 13, 2017

CLDP will host two programs on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in Tunis, Tunisia and Casablanca, Morocco from December 7-13, 2017. CLDP will hold a workshop for judges on ADR in Tunis on December 7-8. It will hold a MENA Regional Workshop on the Enforcement of Arbitral Awards in Casablanca from December 11-13. Both programs are part of CLDP's technical assistance to MENA countries in improving their contract enforcement regimes, funded by the U.S. State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative.

CLDP will conduct a three-day training for female lawyers on negotiation and mediation at the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration.

December 11, 2017

CLDP will conduct a two-day alternative dispute resolution training for members of the Saudi judiciary at the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration.

December 12, 2017 - December 13, 2017

CLDP will conduct a two-day workshop on public procurement in cooperation with the Qatar Ministry of Finance.

December 17, 2017 - December 21, 2017

From December 17-21, 2017, CLDP will sponsor the participation of delegations from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tunisia to the annual United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Geneva, Switzerland. The IGF is an annual forum for multi-stakeholder dialogue on the growth and access to the Internet. CLDP will also organize pre-conference sessions to provide an overview of the IGF and focus on issues relevant to each country.
