April 26, 2018 - May 2, 2018

In April 2018, CLDP will support programs to promote the export of Tunisian Handicrafts to the United States. CLDP will sponsor the travel of American handicraft-sector experts to attend Tunisia's Handicraft Expo, which will take place from April 27-May 6. The experts will assess the potential for export to the U.S. market. At the expo, CLDP will also launch an Artisans Guidebook to Exporting to the United States. 

May 1, 2018 - May 3, 2018

From May 1-3, 2018, CLDP will support Afghanistan’s second national “Internet Governance Forum,” a multistakeholder event on a host of issues related to the Internet and broadband development.  With participation expected from non-government entities, Afghan government organizations, the private sector, and individuals, the event will be organized and conducted by a non-government working group of the Internet Society of Afghanistan.  Global Internet Governance Forums (IGFs) are held annually under the auspices of the United Nations, and the IGF’s multistak

May 2, 2018 - May 3, 2018

On May 2-3, CLDP will organize a follow on Value Added Tax (VAT) training for Members of Bahrain’s Parliament and its professional staff.  This workshop is a continuation of past programming examining the legal framework to promote tax regimes in the GCC and provide technical assistance to the Council of Representatives on drafting commercial legislation.

May 2, 2018 - May 4, 2018

CLDP, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, the PPA, and MEDT conducted a Workshop on Transparent and Efficient Procurement: Phase III, which took place in Chisinau, Moldova on May 2-4, 2018.

May 3, 2018 - May 4, 2018

On May 3-4, CLDP will host a joint workshop in cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Afghanistan Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) on drafting of WTO Notifications.

  In July 2016, Afghanistan became the 164th member of the WTO.  As a part of its WTO accession package, Afghanistan agreed to meet the transparency provisions of the WTO multilateral agreements, as well as to notify when it has implemented specific commitments. 

May 7, 2018 - May 11, 2018

Following the regional consultation held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in May 2016 focusing on Competitive Tenders of Power Projects with Cross Border and Domestic Offtakers, CLDP in coordination with the Independent Power Producer Office in South Africa, will organize a study tour on Regional Power Market Development  for governement officials from Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka to travel to Johannesburg, South Africa on May 8-11, 2018.

May 7, 2018 - May 11, 2018

On May 7-11, 2018, CLDP will hold a workshop in cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO) Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation (ITTC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), for officials from the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. 

May 7, 2018 - May 11, 2018

On May 7-11, CLDP will host a 24-person delegation from Kabul for a workshop on commercial diplomacy for the Afghan commercial attaches. 

 The workshop will take place in Colombo, Sri Lank and consist of a five-day program that will involve experts from the US and Sri Lankan Commercial Services, the World Trade Organization (WTO) Secretariat, the International Senior Lawyers Project, and former International Trade Centre staff.

May 14, 2018 - May 18, 2018

In Sarajevo and Banja Luka CLDP will lead workshops on negotiating international software agreements for local IT companies in BiH taking place respectively on May 14-15 and 17-18, 2018. In September 2017, CLDP conducted an assessment with several leading software development firms in Sarajevo and Banja Luka. All of these firms had developed proprietary software and were interested in expanding internationally through joint development agreements but needed to understand how to best address key IP issues that they were encountering.

May 15, 2018 - May 17, 2018

As a follow-up on the Identification and Interdiction of Counterfeit Products Workshop hosted in Dushanbe in October 2016, CLDP, in coordination with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan will host the second Workshop on Identification and Interdiction of Counterfeit Products. The training will take place in May, 2018 and consist of a three-day program that will involve experts from the government and private sector in the U.S.
