CLDP will arrange a three-month fellowship at Innovation Partners Healthcare for a professor charged with commercialization responsibilities at the University of Colombo. In close collaboration with Focus IP Group, LLC, Innovation Partners Healthcare and WIPO, CLDP has created this opportunity for the Fellow to shadow and be mentored by technology transfer experts in the Boston area.

June 6, 2018 - June 8, 2018

As part of the U.S. government’s objective to promote economic expansion and stability in Afghanistan and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan), CLDP has been facilitating regional working groups on Customs, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, and Standards. CLDP is organizing the Sixth Meeting of the Central Asia-Afghanistan Expert Level Working Group on Standards to take place in Tbilisi, Georgia on June 6-8, 2018.

June 12, 2018 - June 14, 2018

CLDP in coordination with ITA at the US Department of Commerce will conduct a two-day workshop on public consultation best practices for approximately 40 representatives of the primary Salvadoran trade facilitation ministries responsible for citizen participation, including OMR, and the Ministries of Customs, Economy, Health, Agriculture & Livestock. Additionally, representatives from select Honduran Ministries will be invited to the workshops to observe and learn as Honduras works to develop a framework for notice and comment procedures.

June 18, 2018 - June 22, 2018

From June 18-22, 2018, CLDP will host a delegation of government procurement officials from the Dominican Republic in Washington, DC. The delegation will visit various procurement-related entities in and around Washington including The George Washington University Law School, the Court of Federal Claims, the Small Business Administration, the Defense Acquisition Institute, and the Government Accountability Office, among others.

June 25, 2018 - June 29, 2018

CLDP in collaboration with the World Trade Organization (WTO), will support a delegation of the Afghanistan National Procurement Authority (NPA) to attend the GPA June Committee Meeting at the WTO Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.  The Afghan delegation’s participation in the GPA Committee Meeting ensures that: Afghanistan understands the procedural and substantive requirements; play a more active role on issues critical to Afghanistan’s trade and investment sector; and provide answers to questions posed by GPA Committee members, including the United States

On June 26 and 27, CLDP will conduct a 2-day workshop in Bogota, Colombia on stakeholder mapping and community engagement for Colombian government officials.  This workshop will assist Colombia’s officials responsible for overseeing the community outreach and communications in areas licensed for unconventional oil and gas development.   The workshop will bring US federal and State regulators and other experts to share lessons learned from the US experience, best practices in community engagement, and how the U.S.
