January 29, 2018 - January 30, 2019

On January 29-30, 2019, CLDP and ITA will conduct a two-day workshop on public consultation best practices for approximately 100 representatives of Honduran trade ministries responsible for citizen participation in addition to representatives from academia and the private sector. Additionally, representatives from several Salvadoran ministries will participate to share their experiences in developing a framework for notice and comment procedures.

October 29, 2018 - November 1, 2018

On October 29-November 1, 2018, CLDP, in partnership with the Pakistan Regional Economic Integration Activity (a private sector implementer for USAID), the U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Korean Customs Service, led a delegation of officials from the Pakistan Customs Service, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Planning, Development, and Reform, and other stakeholder agencies on a study tour to Daejeon and Seoul, South Korea.

October 30, 2018 - November 1, 2018

On October 30 – November 1, CLDP will organize a North Africa Regional Workshop on Technology Transfer and Ecosystem Building Tunis, Tunisia.  The workshop will include delegations from Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, as well as Bahrain from private sector industries’, universities and technology managers.

November 5, 2018 - November 7, 2018

On November 5-7, 2018, CLDP will organize a workshop in London, UK on Renewable Energy Auctions for officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Energy (MoE), National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), State-Owned OGDCL and PPL and Provincial Authorities.

This workshop will advise Pakistan how to conduct reverse bidding auctions for renewable generation and address how State-owned companies can participate in such upcoming auctions.

November 6, 2018 - November 8, 2018

As part of the U.S. government’s objective to promote economic expansion and stability in Afghanistan and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan) region, CLDP has been supporting the implementation of regional working groups on Customs, Sanitary and Phytosanitary measures, and Standards. CLDP is organizing the Seventh Meeting of the Central Asia-Afghanistan Regional Expert Level Working Group on SPS Issues to take place in Odessa, Ukraine on November 6-8, 2018.

November 8, 2018 - November 13, 2018

In an effort to foster further interest and support for the development of a franchise market in the West Bank and Iraq, CLDP will support the participation of pre-selected Palestinian and Iraqi franchisees and prospective investors to the GRLC. CLDP will also provide a two-day workshop prior to the GRLC, in order to prepare delegates for their respective meetings and consultations with prospective franchisors, restaurateurs, and developers.

November 12, 2018 - November 18, 2018

On November 12-18, CLDP, in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem, supported the 6th Annual Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), in the West Bank. The GEW is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, driving economic growth and expanding human welfare. GEW is hosted with over 20,000 global partners, across 170 countries, reaching over 10 million people worldwide.

November 12, 2018 - November 15, 2018

CLDP will be organizing a five-day program, consisting of training sessions, consultations, and site visits for up to 12 government officials from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil. These consultations will take place in Abu Dhabi, UAE from November 11-15, 2018. This program will supplement and support the delegation’s participation in the “Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference” (ADIPEC), held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) on November 12-15, 2018.

November 12, 2018 - November 15, 2018

On November 12-15, 2018, Iraq’s Ministry of Oil exhibited for the first time at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exposition (ADIPEC). The exhibition came as a result of prior CLDP-sponsored programs and consultations provided to the Ministry on the margins of ADIPEC. Exhibiting at ADIPEC provided U.S. companies and Iraqi officials a prime opportunity to partner on projects and investments that are essential to the development of Iraq’s economy.

November 13, 2018 - November 14, 2018

CLDP, in coordination with the U.S. Federal Trade Center and in cooperation with the High Council of Justice, the Supreme Court of Ukraine and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine will hold the Workshop II on the Adjudication of Commercial Disputes. The workshop will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine, on November 13-14, 2018, and will gather Ukrainian judges, government officials, lawyers, as well as representatives of the U.S. judiciary and legal community.

November 14, 2018 - November 15, 2018

Building off of CLDP’s previous work with Sri Lanka and Bhutan, CLDP will host workshops on procurement of independent power projects. The workshops will highlight lessons learned from South Africa’s experience and other global markets.

November 15, 2018 - November 17, 2018

In November, 2018, CLDP will host a workshop in Tallinn, Estonia to assist the Afghan Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies to develop a strategy to implement its roadmap on eGovernance.  The roadmap addresses policy and legislative issues, infrastructure development, and government operations and services. 

November 15, 2018 - November 16, 2018

On November 15-16, the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) will host its inaugural conference on "The Role of Institutional Arbitration in Economic Reforms and Investment Promotion," under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Justice Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, and H.E. Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, with the cooperation of the International Center for Disputes Resolution.

November 16, 2018

On November 16, the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA), in cooperation with CLDP, will initiate the Youth Arbitration Moot for the premier legal institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in both Arabic and English. The Youth Arbitration Moot will be the first National Moot on Commercial Arbitration, focused on developing the capacity of the next generation of ADR practitioners in the Kingdom. The Moot will be modeled after CLDP’s Middle East Vis Pre-Moot Program, which prepares teams from the Middle East and North Africa to compete in the International Willem C.

November 17, 2018 - November 18, 2018

On November 17-18, CLDP, in partnership with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice, will hold a two-day judicial exchange program for 30 Sri Lankan Judges on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).  The event will cover topics on the advantages of arbitration and mediation for the Sri Lankan courts and business community; the role of judges in the ADR sector, with a specific emphasis on the New York Convention; and the rules, practices, and procedures of ADR.

CLDP will host the Second U.S. Consultations on the Government Procurement and Public- Private Partnerships for 7 procurement officials from the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Consultations will take place in Washington D.C. on November 26-30, 2018 and will help strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Finance Training Center to provide public procurement trainings and certifications.
