Senior Legal Advisor Ms. Mallett is a Senior Legal Advisor with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she leads intellectual property portfolios for Central Asia and Sri Lanka and the extractives portfolio for Afghanistan. Prior to joining CLDP, Ms. Mallett was in private practice in Denver, Colorado, where for over 10 years she focused on mining, oil & gas and public lands, mergers & acquisitions and corporate matters. Ms. Mallett began her legal career at the Colorado Court of Appeals, where she served for two terms as a law clerk for the Honorable (Ret.) Russell Carparelli. Ms. Mallett received her Juris Doctorate degree, Order of St. Ives, and her Master in Environmental and Natural Resources Law and Policy from the University of Denver Strum College of Law. She also holds an engineer-economist degree from the State University of Management in Moscow, Russia. Ms. Mallett is admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado. She is a fluent Russian speaker.
