Paula Paixao e Silva Zarazinski

Attorney Advisor

Paula Paixao e Silva Zarazinski is an Attorney Advisor with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce. She currently manages programs in North Africa focused on small and medium-sized enterprise growth, economic diversification, insolvency reform, and contract enforcement.

Prior to joining CLDP, Mrs. Zarazinski worked at the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative where she provided legal capacity building and technical assistance to host-country governments and civil society in Sub-Saharan Africa. She designed and developed programs on judicial training, legal reform, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, regional advocacy, and strategic litigation. Mrs. Zarazinski began her legal career at INTERPOL providing legal advice to member states and conducting research on international law issues.   

Mrs. Zarazinski holds an LLB cum laude from the Universidade Federal do Amazonas in Brazil, an LLM in International Law from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in France, and an LLM from the George Washington University Law School where she received a Thomas Buergenthal scholarship. Mrs. Zarazinski is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and Brazil. She is fluent in Portuguese, French, and speaks intermediate Spanish.
