Consultative Tour to US Law Schools

CLDP brought professors from partner institutions in Oman to the U.S. to participate in a consultative tour of American law schools on February 20 - March 4, 2005. During the visit, the participants were able to experience firsthand the teaching methods that are being used at prominent U.S. law schools.

Economic Modeling: Tools for a Liberalized Trade Policy in Albania

CLDP advisors from the U.S. International Trade Commissionconducted a one-week workshop in Tirana on econometric models to provide participants with various models and the ability to analyze economic data to enable the Government of Albania to make policy decisions and further their implementation of WTO policy.

WTO Regional Information Seminars to Provide Accurate, Current Information on Russia's Accession to the WTO

Five regional seminars were convened in strategic locations, where populations will be affected by WTO accession: Stavropol, Saratov, Cheboksary, Barnaul and Petrozavodsk. Government of Russia officials who directly work on Russia's accession to the WTO conducted the seminars.

Ten representatives form Morocco's automotive parts inductry met in Washington, DC, and Detroit, MI, to consult on business practices affecting the auto parts industry.

Albania WTO Compliance Audit (Phase I)

During the first half of the program, staff members from the Ministry of Economy’s WTO Secretariat met with Mr. Creskoff, CLDP Resident Advisor Barbara Hall and CLDP International Program Specialist Tatiana Aras to update and revise a WTO compliance matrix that was developed in 2002 by CLDP Advisor Roberto Garcia.

Ukraine Customs Valuation II Training

Two U.S. Customs officials conducted the training – a continuation of a program conducted in December, 2002, on the methodology of valuation procedures – for twenty Ukrainian customs officials having senior responsibility for valuation at their respective border entry points.
