On December 17, CLDP kicked off a series of monthly office hours for Vis Moot students and coaches from the Balkans, leading up to the Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot) taking place in March 2021.

CLDP held Advanced Rulings Best Practices Webinar Series Session II

On December 16, CLDP, in coordination with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Government of Kosovo (GoK) sponsored a second training on the advance ruling systems.  This session included private sector companies from Kosovo AmCham and other shipping associations as an opportunity to learn about the GoK advance ruling system and to support the Kosovar government in creating a mechanism for uniform advance rulings on origin/classification and valuation.

BIH: CLDP Trains Judges on IP Adjudication to Improve the Rule of Law

On December 16, 2020, CLDP along with USPTO and a U.S. federal judge, trained judges from the Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Republika Srpska and the Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Federation of BiH on intellectual property (IP) adjudication.

Saudi Arabia – Best Practices for Bankruptcy Trustees

On December 9, in order to assist the Saudi Arabia Bankruptcy Commission in developing best practices in administrative liquidation and trustee practices, CLDP and the Bankruptcy Commission, in collaboration with the U.S Department of Justice U.S. Trustees Program and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Puerto Rico, conducted a webinar regarding management by trustees in insolvency cases.  During the webinar Saudi Trustees learned how U.S. Trustees manage cases during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Saudi Trustees also learned U.S. bankruptcy judges’ expectations of documentation received from Trustees during bankruptcy cases. Improved bankruptcy law implementation improves opportunities for U.S. companies to invest and conduct business in Saudi Arabia, by securing business transactions and increasing return on investment.
