CLDP sponsored the travel of the president and vice president of the Tunisian Competition Council (TCC) to the U.S. to participate in the Fordham Annual Conference on International Antitrust Law and Policy in New York City and consultations with U.S. government agencies (including the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice) and legal experts in Washington, D.C., October 1-3.

Tunisia: Consultations on Law and Economics; Furthering Economic Development through Law Reform

Given the challenges facing the Tunisian economy, the U.S. Embassy in Tunisia and the MOJ have concluded consultations in the U.S. on “Law and Economics” for a small team of judges from a “think tank” of the MOJ called CEJJ (Centre d’Etudes Juridiques et Judiciaires) for the purpose of enabling CEJJ to better contribute to the modernization of the Tunisian economy, and, as importantly, would bolster initiatives to expand the Rule of Law in Tunisia.

Judicial workshop on Reorganizing SMEs under Bankruptcy Laws

In response to a request from the Tunisian Ministry of Justice, CLDP, in close cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Tunis, has developed a judicial capacity building program focused on the judicial reorganization of small business, which, though viable, experience financial difficulties.
