Mali: Workshop on Intellectual Property Issues Related to Food Safety, Health and the Environment

Through a workshop in Bamako, Mali, May 17-18, 2011 CLDP exposed 175 enforcement officials and private sector representatives to the importance of intellectual property (IP) protection, its impact on the country’s economies and the international standards of protection to be attained, as well as showcased the skills and mechanisms needed to promote greater communication and coordination among IP enforcement agencies in Mali.

As a follow-on to the 2008 IP Forum, CLDP held a two-day conference in Mali, that focused on the capacity building of Malian judges in the area of intellectual property.

Intellectual Property Forum

CLDP, in close coordination with USAID/Mali, implemented a two-day forum on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). This program exposed participants to the importance of IP protection and its impact on Malian stakeholders. The workshop detailed enforcement aspects by both the judiciary and the customs border patrol.
