Through a series of round table discussions, CLDP, in cooperation with the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and USAID, hosted a series of roundtable discussions regarding sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures in Afghanistan, Afghanistan’s World Trade Organization SPS Agreement obligations, food safety procedures, and Afghanistan’s agricultural market access.

Pakistan: CLDP and USTR Hold Webinar on GSP for Commerce Officials

On August 10, 2020, CLDP and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) hosted a webinar on U.S.-Pakistan Trade and the U.S. Generalized System of Preferences (GSP). The Assistant U.S. Trade Representative (AUSTR) for South and Central Asia, Chris Wilson and the Pakistan Minister of Commerce, Sualeh Ahmed Faruqui opened the webinar. USTR and International Trade Administration (ITA) experts advised Pakistan officials on opportunities for expanding Pakistan companies’ utilization of the unilateral trade preference program.
