MENA: CLDP Supported Judges’ Participation in Court Administration Conference
From September 17-18, 2019, CLDP facilitated the participation of judicial delegations from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain in the 10th Annual International Association for Court Administration’s (IACA) conference in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. IACA is the largest international organization focusing on improving court administration practices around the world and its annual conference is a unique opportunity to share best practices in technological and legal developments. Many of the challenges facing U.S. companies in these countries are the result of a lack of efficiency, predictability, and transparency in the litigation process. This year, the IACA conference included participants from over 40 countries, including the judges from the Middle East North Africa region with whom CLDP works closely to improve dispute resolution mechanisms for bankruptcy cases, commercial disputes, and procurement-related challenges. CLDP attorneys also participated in panel discussions during the conference to discuss CLDP’s efforts on bankruptcy and anti-corruption reform in the region.
