Over a two-week period in Washington, DC and New York, NY, 15 Egyptian commercial attachés met with various USG officials, professional associations, and private sector representatives to discuss trade promotion and policy and foreign investment issues.

A CLDP team spent and entire day at the Patent Office, touring the premises, interviewing the patent controller and delivering 5 hours of training to all of the examiners. All examiners gained greater understanding of electronic search methods and strategies.

CLDP sponsored the visit of two faculty members from Qatar University Law School and two faculty members from Sultan Qaboos University Law School to participate in the American Association of Law Schools (AALS) annual meeting in Washington DC.

CLDP sponsored a one-day program of consultations for a delegation from Yemen that included Yemen's Minister of Civil Service and Insurance and the Minister of Finance.

In December 2006, CLDP in coordination with the Yemen Ministry of Justice presented a two-day workshop in Sana'a, Yemen focusing on contract law standards.
