Qatar: CLDP Leads Assessment of Capacity Building Needs in Public/Private Partnerships

On March 13-14, 2019, in Doha, Qatar, CLDP conducted an assessment of training and capacity-building needs in the area of public private partnerships (PPP). In coordination with DOC commercial specialists and a Department of State political-economic officer, CLDP met with officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), the Ministry of Public Health, and the Public Works Authority to assess needs and to determine receptivity to PPP workshops and other capacity building. Discussions included the status of the draft PPP law, the creation of a PPP unit at MOCI consisting of legal and regulatory, planning and feasibility, and project administration groups, and planned PPPs in the schools and hospitals sectors.
