Mali: Prevention of Counterfeits Campaign

September 3, 2019

The proliferation of counterfeit, adulterated, and illegal agricultural inputs such as improved seeds, fertilizers, vaccines, farm equipment and crop protection products is increasing in Africa as governments encourage farmers to use new technologies to increase farming output. Although Mali has already implemented a basic legal framework for oversight of the quality of agricultural products, much remains to be done in terms of sensitization and technical capacity building of the relevant stakeholders. In this context, CLDP seeks to organize a prevention of counterfeits campaign that will allow strategic targeting of the relevant institutions for as well as raise public awareness about the dangers of adulterated products.
