Pakistan and Sri Lanka: CLDP Holds U.S. Consultations on Advance Rulings for Officials from Sri Lanka and Pakistan

April 7, 2020 - April 10, 2020

On April 6-9, 2020 CLDP will partner with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to host officials from Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Washington, D.C. for consultations on Advance Rulings.

CLDP has been cooperating with Sri Lanka Customs and the Pakistan Federal Board of Revenue for the past three years to provide capacity building and training as the countries seek to implement this important reform under the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Trade Facilitation.  In a recent study on the impact of trade facilitation measures on trade costs, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development identified the advance rulings system as the single most impactful trade facilitation measure, with the potential to reduce trade costs by about 5.4%.
