Support for Asia-Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum

September 27, 2020 - September 29, 2020

From September 27 through 29, 2020, CLDP will support participation by South Asian government and non-government stakeholders at the now-virtual Asia-Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF). This is a regional event consistent with the global IGFs held annually by the United Nations.  Multiple virtual workshops and plenary sessions will offer platforms for discussions of such Internet Governance issues such as access, openness, and data regulation. CLDP will provide standalone discussions of issues of interest to the South Asian participants and will also provide some technical support to the operation of the forum.  This activity is part of CLDP’s work under the Department of State’s Digital Connectivity and Cybersecurity Partnership (DCCP).  DCCP supports increased access to communications, an open, interoperable, and secure Internet, transparent regulatory policies for open competitive markets, and trade opportunities for U.S. firms.  DCCP also builds partners nations’ capacity to address shared security threats, along with capacity building and commercial engagement activities.
