CLDP Global Vis Pre-Moot Written Advocacy Program Phase Two Virtual

November 9, 2020 - January 22, 2021

From November 2020 through January 2021, CLDP will provide virtual assistance to teams participating in CLDP's 11th Annual Middle East Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot Program.

The Vis Moot is one of the most prestigious commercial arbitration competition in the world, which is held annually in Vienna and Hong Kong. CLDP’s Middle East program is a multi-phased program aimed to prepare student participants in the areas of written and oral advocacy in order to help them prepare for the competition. For Phase II, CLDP will host around 16 teams from 9 countries, including, the UAE, Qatar, Tunisia, Iraq, Pakistan, Maldives, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. Students will work virtually with CLDP attorney-advisors, pro bono Vis advisors, and former Vis Pre-Moot members, to draft and finalize their respective team's written submissions to the Vis Moot organization.  The focus of Phase II is to enable teams to develop their legal research capacities and written advocacy skills.  The Vis Moot program helps promote alternative dispute resolution in the Middle East and South Asia, thereby promoting a better business enabling environment by creating better contract enforcement mechanisms in the region.
