Egypt-Capacity Building for Commercial Attaches: Finalization of Objectives

July 22, 2020

CLDP will conduct a multi-month program to build the capacity of a group of 14 Egyptian commercial attaches, with a quadruple focus: 1/ Providing knowledge about international trade and the WTO; 2/ Developing skills and knowledge required for increasing Egypt’s exports; 3/  Developing skills and knowledge required for attracting foreign investment into Egypt; 4/ Developing skills and knowledge required for facilitating joint-ventures between Egyptian firms and foreign firms.

Until international travel resumes, this program will be conducted through a series of video-conferences and webinars. The first of these virtual events will take place in the second half of July. It will be a video-conference meant to make it possible for the commercial attaches and  CLDP to get to know each other.

Prior to the video-conference, the 14 commercial attaches will send their bios to CLDP. The video-conference will consist of three parts: Part 1: After overall introductions, each one of the 14 Egyptian commercial attaches will give a brief presentation on her/his professional activities and will explain her/his expectations from the program. Part 2: The CLDP team will give an overview of the program’s objectives and agenda.  CLDP will then answer the attaches’ questions. Part 3: The Egyptian commercial attaches and CLDP will discuss desirable changes in the program’s agenda.
