Sri Lanka: FIDIC Contracts Workshop

February 24, 2021 - February 25, 2021

On February 24-25, CLDP will conduct a workshop on FIDIC contracts for a delegation of Sri Lankan officials from the Attorney General’s office. FIDIC contracts are international standard contracts used in the fields of construction and installation, and can be utilized as part of Public Private Partnerships (PPP). CLDP’s programming builds capacity for key ministries and other institutions on PPPs, and trains local officials on advanced topics so that they can better advise other agencies on PPPs. Following this training, key stakeholders in Sri Lanka’s PPP regime will be in a better position to identify, negotiate, execute and implement sustainable PPP projects. CLDP’s assistance supports the Indo-Pacific Strategy’s work to build capacity, improve transparency and competition for infrastructure projects, and create opportunities for foreign investment including from US companies.  Due to the risk of Covid-19, CLDP staff and experts will conduct the training virtually while local officials will attend in person at a centralized location in Colombo.
