January 12, 2020 - January 14, 2020

On January 12-14, 2020, CLDP will host a group of legal and technical experts from Afghanistan Customs in Colombo, Sri Lanka for a workshop on Advance Rulings.  CLDP is the primary trade-related technical assistance provider for USAID in Afghanistan, and provides assistance to the Government of Afghanistan as it seeks to implement the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Trade Facilitation (TFA).  Advance Rulings is an important WTO TFA reform with the potential to reduce transaction costs by up to 2 percent for developing countries.  In its indicative dates notified t

January 15, 2020 - January 16, 2020

On January 15-16, 2020,  CLDP will hold its third workshop for the Government of Sri Lanka on Advance Rulings.  Advance Rulings is an important reform under the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation (WTO TFA) with the potential to reduce transaction costs by up to 2% for developing countries.  In its WTO TFA Category C notification, the Government of Sri Lanka has committed to implementing Article III, Advance Rulings by 2025.  At the workshop, U.S.

January 16, 2020 - January 17, 2020

On January 16-17, 2020, in coordination with the Dominican General Directorate for Public Contracting (DGCP), CLDP will conduct a workshop on best practices in implementing government procurement programs for small and women-owned businesses in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The workshop will bring together 80 representatives of the DGCP; the Dominican Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and SMEs; purchasing units of various other government ministries; academia; and the private sector. January 28, 2020 - January 29, 2020

On Janary 28-29, 2020, CLDP will organize a workshop on best practices in government procurement for public-private partnerships in Kathmandu, Nepal, as a continuation of its Indo-Pacific portfolio on infrastructure development and finance. In March 2019, Nepal passed a PPP law and designated the Investment Board of Nepal (IBN) as the country’s PPP authority. CLDP’s training aims to build competency of IBN’s staff, as well as that of other Nepali government ministries.
