July 1, 2020 - September 30, 2020

In July, August, and September 2020, CLDP, in collaboration with USTR and the University of Missouri, will provide virtual business fundamental courses to 20 Salvadoran textile representatives. CLDP has partnered with a textile and apparel expert who will conduct group sessions, as well as tailored sessions depending on the needs and businesses of the selected representatives. Lessons will cover business plan development and implementation, mentorship opportunities, local business resources, and personnel management.

July 29, 2020 - September 30, 2020

CLDP initiated a series of virtual meetings connecting Afghan representatives with Ambassador Shahzad Aroybee, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic. The meetings serve to discuss how CLDP can work with the Afghan Embassy in the Czech Republic to support Afghanistan’s trade and agribusiness sectors, and to facilitate implementation of memoranda of understanding (MOU) focusing on trade facilitation between the two countries, which are currently being drafted.

August 1, 2020 - September 30, 2020

In August and September 2020, CLDP, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the General Directorate for Public Contracting, will conduct a series of training-of-the-trainers for 25 directors and personnel of small business centers in the Dominican Republic (DR) on how to deliver procurement-specific technical assistance to women-owned business clients.

August 21, 2020 - September 30, 2020

Through a series of round table discussions, CLDP, in cooperation with the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and USAID, will host a series of roundtable discussions regarding sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures in Afghanistan, Afghanistan’s World Trade Organization SPS Agreement obligations, food safety procedures, and Afghanistan’s agricultural market access.

September 1, 2020 - January 15, 2021

From September 2020 through January 2021, CLDP will provide virtual assistance to teams participating in CLDP's 11th Annual Middle East Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot Program.

September 4, 2020 - October 2, 2020

From September 4 to October 2, CLDP, in cooperation with the Center for International Legal Education (CILE) of the University of Pittsburgh College of Law, is hosting a Virtual Vis Moot Boot Camp for the incoming 2020-2021 CLDP sponsored teams who will compete in the 28th Annual Willem C.

September 8, 2020

CLDP, in collaboration with the USPTO, will lead a series of live online capacity building trainings for the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia.  The training series will focus on protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights through trademark, copy rights, patents, and trade secrets.  

September 15, 2020 - September 18, 2020

In September 2020, CLDP will hold a webinar for officials from the Egyptian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) on Article I requirements of the WTO TFA. 

September 15, 2020 - December 15, 2020

As part of CLDP’s work to support Egypt adhere to the World Trade Organization and Valuation Agreement (CVA), CLDP in collaboration with the World Custom Organization (WCO) and the Egyptian Custom Authority, will implement a series of virtual training for Egyptian custom officials on how to improve custom valuation practice in line with the CVA. 

September 17, 2020

On September 17, CLDP, in collaboration with the Nepal Renewable Energy Program (NREP), conducted a webinar on public-private partnerships (PPPs) for provincial Nepali government officials. Recent Nepali legislation has allowed local and regional authorities to procure infrastructure projects under a PPP model. Nepal is working to increase domestic and foreign investment at the sub-national level for infrastructure, with a focus on the energy sector.

September 21, 2020 - September 24, 2020

CLDP, in cooperation with USPTO, will provide a file link to select Pakistani judges likely to adjudicate intellectual property (IP) cases (e.g., IP Tribunal Presiding Officers) and who register/accept an invitation to the webinar from CLDP.

Pursuant to a request from the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA),  Pakistan’s telecom regulator, CLDP plans to organize one or more virtual educational sessions on topics of mutual interest.

September 29, 2020 - September 30, 2020

On September 29-30, 2020, CLDP, in collaboration with the Honduran Ministries of Customs and Economy, will continue a three-part virtual workshop series on Advance Ruling Best Practices. The third workshop will focus on effectively communicating and coordinating modifications or new rulings across ports of entry and with private sector representatives. Interactive sessions will showcase the importance of fostering interagency coordination at the national and regional level as the Northern Triangle countries work to harmonize their processes through the regional customs union.
