CLDP, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, held a two-day workshop on investor-state arbitration in Kvareli, Georgia at the Training Center of the Ministry of Justice. The workshop focused on complex and comprehensive topics related to investor arbitration, on prevention of investor-state disputes, and on recommendations for investor treaty negotiations. The participants included 7 officials from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Leading the workshop were David Pawlak, an attorney with extensive experience in investor-state arbitration, and Jansen Calamita, Director of the Investment Treaty Forum at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law.

This program provided in-depth and wide-ranging training for Georgian government officials utilizing international best practices and expertise. It will improve the knowledge level and skill of Georgian officials on the topic, thereby assisting Georgia to comply with international norms and standards, adhere to the rule of law, and create a better business-enabling environment.
