Attorney-Advisor, Global Digital Connectivity and Cybersecurity Partnership

Are you an experienced Information and Communications Technology (ICT) attorney with program organizational skills who is interested in an international career with travel to developing countries? The Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) is seeking two attorneys to support its Digital Connectivity and Cybersecurity Partnership (DCCP) activities in countries around the world.

Competitive candidates should have broad experience in telecommunications and information matters and specific experience in wireless and international communications. The attorneys would serve as both subject matter experts and program managers to conceptualize, design, and implement programs to assist countries in their ICT development and to further opportunities for U.S. businesses. The positions require regular overseas travel. Foreign language ability in Spanish or Arabic is preferred. At least one foreign language is required.

CLDP furthers U.S. foreign policy goals in developing and post-conflict countries through commercial legal reforms. CLDP’s technical assistance programs draw upon highly-experienced regulators, policymakers, business leaders and attorneys from both the public and private sectors to deliver results that make meaningful and lasting changes to the legal and business environments of our host countries. The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy funds CLDP’s DCCP programming.

The Department of Commerce is an equal opportunity employer and provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities where appropriate. The Department of Commerce does not discriminate on the base of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.

Candidates must meet federal hiring standards for attorneys. This is an Excepted Service Position. The 2023 federal salary range for these positions is projected as $112,015 – $132,368 (GS 13/1 – 14/1) depending on experience.
