CLDP is currently working with the Polytechnic School of Algiers (ENP) to assist them in the development of an intellectual property (IP) policy. CLDP will facilitate virtual consultations with faculty members to draft and customize a policy with guidelines on the management of intellectual property and commercialization of technology. The IP policy will provide researchers at ENP with more specific guidance as they seek to bring new technologies to the marketplace and can also serve as a model to other Algerian academic and research institutions. While structural reforms to the Algerian IP framework are necessary, IP policies can enable vital linkages between universities and companies and help advance innovation and economic diversification in Algeria.
