CLDP, in conjunction with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), is hosting a two-week U.S. Consultations with Georgia's National Intellectual Property Center (Sakpatenti) to provide assistance and advanced training for trademark examiners. The advanced training consists of several countries worldwide, including Costa Rica, Israel, Kazakhstan, and Brazil, where the participants have a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and information first-hand. CLDP cosponsored a three-person delegation from Sakpatenti to travel to Alexandria, VA, to conduct on-site consultations with USPTO, where the training consists of lectures and presentations, in addition to case studies and group exercises. The goal of these consultations was to assist Georgia be providing a platform for sharing information about legal and procedural approaches to resolving trademark registration issues.
