In recent years, CLDP has been working closely with the National Center for Judicial Studies (NCJS) to develop the capacity of Egyptian judges to understand and implement Egyptian legislation in the areas of intellectual property, telecommunication, and electronic signatures. To build upon these technical assistance activities with the NCJS, and thereby continue to support the capacity of Egyptian judges to comprehend and apply newly adopted legislation, CLDP designed a two-day conference in Cairo for 100 Egyptian judges to participate in presentations by Egyptian, American and European experts on the application of Egypt’s electronic signature law and regulations. As requested by the NCJS, electronic signature topics covered in this conference included: primers on Egypt’s electronic signature law, international electronic signature legislation, electronic transactions, cybersecurity, privacy and identity theft and dispute settlement.
