CLDP Leads Franchising Workshops in Algeria and Tunisia

CLDP Franchise Workshop in Setif, Algeria

CLDP led franchising workshops in Algeria and Tunisia from September 18-26, 2017. In Algeria, CLDP organized introductory workshops on the concept of franchising, led by international franchising experts, in Setif on September 18 and in Oran on September 20. In Tunisia, CLDP led an introductory workshop on franchising on September 25, and a meeting of the Franchise Business Club on September 26. Both Tunisia workshops are being co-organized with AC Franchise. CLDP's franchise programming in Algeria and Tunisia is part of an effort to promote entrepreneurship and economic development, funded by the U.S. Department of State's Middle East Partnership Initiative.

On July 20, 2018, CLDP, in coordination with the Georgian Copyright Association (GCA) and the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia, “Sakpatenti,” conducted a one-day training for 27 Georgian journalists and other representatives of the media in Batumi, Georgia. Judge Bernice Donald, U.S. Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and Judge Oliver Schön of the District Court of Munich led the training and provided a general overview of intellectual property law, highlighting recent trends and developments in the U.S. and the E.U.
