Afghanistan and Pakistan TIR Convention

On September 18-21, 2018, officials of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GoIRA) and the Government of Pakistan (GoP) joined CLDP and the IRU in Istanbul, Turkey for training on implementation of the TIR Convention.  The program included discussion of international best practices in TIR implementation, updates on bilateral trade and TIR development, demonstrations of procedures and the use of electronic tools, and planning for further coordination with IRU departments and the respective GoIRA and GoP Customs Officials. The program focused on bi-lateral TIR issues as well as TIR issues specific to Afghanistan and Pakistan, including the TIR IT tools, TIR rules and TIR documents.

On August 5-8, 2019, CLDP supported the participation of a delegate from the State Service of Intellectual Property and Innovation, Krygyz Republic, and the Kazakh Patent Agency in a Trademarks IP Office Administration training, hosted by the USPTO in Alexandria, Virginia.
