Dominican Republic: CLDP Leads Workshop on Contract Administration

On September 6-7 in Santo Domingo, CLDP, in coordination with the Dominican General Directorate for Public Contracting (DGCP), led a government procurement workshop on contract administration for more than 60 contracting officials from various government agencies. To deliver the workshop, CLDP called upon the expertise of a Department of Commerce contracts attorney and a Department of Veterans Affairs procurement analyst. This workshop came as a response to a specific request by the DGCP to cover standards of conduct for contracting officers, monitoring a contractor’s performance, contract disputes, remedies, and best practices in contract closeout. This workshop marked the conclusion of CLDP’s first two-year project to improve the efficiency of government procurement practices in the Dominican Republic. The project was recently extended by USAID Dominican Republic for another two years.

On December 5-7, CLDP facilitated a workshop on procurement in Chisinau, Moldova. CLDP organized the workshop in collaboration with the Public Procurement Agency of Moldova (PPA), the Ministry of Finance of Moldova, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (MEDT), and the U.S. Embassy in Moldova.
