Egyptian and U.S. Standardization Systems

On Tuesday, June 3, 2008, representatives from government and private sectors of Egypt and the U.S. met to witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and the American National Standards Institute. Following the ceremony, participants held a roundtable discussion to help better acquaint the private sector with the two standardization systems and seek ways to make the systems more effective in promoting mutual trade interests.

In the context of the President's Power Africa Initiative, CLDP is coordinating the development of annotated core agreements for power generation projects within Power Africa countries. These annotated agreements, along with pro bono energy law expertise, will be used as negotiation and capacity development tools for Power Africa governments and other stakeholders with the goal of reducing the development time cycle for power projects in Africa.
