U.S. Study Tour for Egyptian Commercial Attaches

January 20, 2007 - February 3, 2007

Over a two-week period in Washington, DC and New York, NY, 15 Egyptian commercial attachés met with various USG officials, professional associations, and private sector representatives to discuss trade promotion and policy and foreign investment issues. The training exposed commercial attachés to the importance of commercial affairs, including trade and foreign investment promotion, so that they serve as effective facilitators of business when posted in Egyptian Embassies around the world. As well, the program will better prepare commercial attachés to perform what will be required of them in regards to coordinating main office activities and procedures with both governmental and private sector agencies. Most significantly, it will assist commercial attachés in developing and honing their skills in global trade negotiations.

On December 5-7, CLDP facilitated a workshop on procurement in Chisinau, Moldova. CLDP organized the workshop in collaboration with the Public Procurement Agency of Moldova (PPA), the Ministry of Finance of Moldova, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (MEDT), and the U.S. Embassy in Moldova.
