Georgia: CLDP Hosts Webinar Series on International Commercial Arbitration

CLDP, in collaboration with the Georgian Association of Arbitrators (GAA), has launched a series of bi-weekly webinars on topics in international commercial arbitration.   The series is split into four sessions that take place on Wednesdays evenings at 5:00 pm Georgia Standard Time.  For each session, experts from the international arbitration community deliver live presentations and participate in a moderated dialog with participants from Georgia’s arbitration community.

The lack of effective and efficient mechanisms for commercial dispute resolution remains an impediment to economic growth in Georgia.  The expanded use of arbitration in Georgia can help to resolve challenges in the formal legal system by providing access to an alternative form of dispute resolution.  The goal of this webinar series is to build the practical skills of participating Georgian arbitrators and to support the GAA in their mission to improve the practice of arbitration throughout Georgia.

Below is the schedule of dates for CLDP’s Webinar Series on International Commercial Arbitration:

  • June 10, 2020 – Understanding Ad Hoc and Institutional Arbitration
    • Presented by Dr. Kabir Duggal and Rekha Rangachari
  • June 24, 2020 – Public Policy Concerns in Arbitration
    • Presented by Catherine A. Rogers
  • July 8, 2020 – Handling Conflicts of Interest
    • Presented by Giovanna Micheli
  • July 22, 2020 – Drafting Arbitral Awards
    • Presented by David Singer

This project was made possible through funding by the U.S. Department of State.
